Beautiful Parks
Join a community clean-up at Lakewood parks!
Every year, Lakewood staff and community volunteers team up to clean our parks. This includes picking up trash, pulling weeds, and light landscaping to preserve the parks. Join us at the next Parks Appreciation Day to help make a difference!
Team Work
Join City staff for a day of community service and beautification of Lakewood parks during Parks Appreciation Day. Volunteers help remove invasive weeds, pick up trash, and perform other light landscaping to “spring clean” neighborhood parks.
The following sites need volunteers to help at the 2026 Parks Appreciation Day event:
- Edgewater Park: 9102 Edgewater Drive SW, Lakewood, WA 98499
- Fort Steilacoom Park: 8714 87th Ave SW, Lakewood WA 98498
- Harry Todd Park: 8928 N Thorne Ln SW, Lakewood, WA 98498
- Springbrook Park: 12601 Addison St SW, Lakewood, WA 98499
- Wards Lake Park: 2716 84th St Ct S, Lakewood, WA 98499
Volunteers should arrive by 9 a.m. at the park with gloves, water, outdoor clothing, and sunscreen (and hand pruners, shovels, and wheel barrows if you have them). Please identify personal items with your name. We work rain or shine, so watch the weather and prepare accordingly.
To pre-register email parks@cityoflakewood.us with your group size and preferred site. Volunteers who are not registered are encouraged to show up at one of the park sites listed above to help. All are welcome!
